Bio & Credentials
A native of Palo Alto, California, I conducted my undergraduate studies at Pitzer College and then moved to Hawaii in 1992 to study Clinical Psychology. I was primarily interested in cross-cultural psychology, and traveled throughout Asia conducting research during graduate school. My doctoral dissertation is titled Ethnocultural Perceptions of Psychiatric Symptomatology in Rural Nepal.
I conducted my internship at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, and then my post-doctoral hours at The Queen’s Medical Center, Family Treatment Center in Honolulu. After working at Waikiki Health Center, I eventually started a private practice in my current location at Eaton Square in Waikiki.
My private practice consists of individual and group therapy, as well as an evaluation clinic. For many years, I have supervised graduate students from Argosy University and University of Hawaii as practicum students and interns. They currently assist with psychological testing and co-leading group therapy.
I currently reside in Honolulu, Hawaii with my wife Thuy, and son Zuriel.
